TNT Workshop

During an international TNT meeting in the city Scheveningen I participated together with the Design Academy Eindhoven in a three-day during workshop for managers and directors of TNT post. During these three days I have designed (together with an old classmate “Nathalie Schellekens”)a new van for TNT. The first day of the workshop we organised a brainstorm session with the managers and directors. We used the information gained during this sessions to make the final design of the van.

The design is a van with an inflatable harmonica in the middle, when the bus is empty you can deflate the harmonica which will result in a small van that gains only a little space in the parking lot. In the morning the mailman inflates the harmonica of the van as much as necessary to fit in all of the mail. During the day the mailman can deflate the harmonica as the amount of mail will increase, due to this the car will get shorter. Therefore you don’t have to climb into the van to take out the packages and the van gets more and more manoeuvrable. Because of its appearance the van will be a typical icon for TNT, everyone recognizes it.
