Layers of fabric

The subject of the project "Layers of fabric" is recycling. When I found out that the remains of a roll furnishing fabric will be thrown away, I designed a chair that consists out of these leftovers.

The chair is made from strips of waste furnishing fabrics (50x500 mm).
The end faces of the fabrics are put against each other around a metal frame, due to this the colors blend into each other. These many different types of fabrics and colors give every chair its own identity. In addition, the production procedure is very simple: All strips are of the same size and therefore easy to punch. Because these strips are small, 90% of all remaining furnishing fabrics can be reused.
